Singapore’s Biggest Rum Festival is Set to Return at Keong Saik this June 5

June 1, 2022

Sharing is caring!

Good news to all rum lovers! Rum Bellion is back after two years of hiatus. Check out what you have to know about Singapore’s most-awaited rum festival.

Yes, it’s back. After two years of strict COVID restrictions, Rum Bellion will finally be celebrated once again in all of its spirited glory this June 5, Saturday. Around 30 rum brands are expected to participate – including the top bars from Singapore and overseas, with a lineup of over 60 expressions on show, as well as the special edition Heart of Darkness beers that are inspired by the classic rum cocktails (namely daiquiri, piña colada, and mojito).

Here’s Why You Should Join the Upcoming Rum Bellion 2022

After rousing the first edition in 2019, rum lovers have been long waiting for the Rum Bellion to happen once again in Singapore. If you haven’t joined the fun years back, now is your chance to join the festivity – as more engaging activities are expected to happen at Heart Darkness Singapore this coming June 5.

On the aforementioned date, over 60 expressions of rum from 30 brands would be made available for festival goers to enjoy. There you get to compare the styles of Southeast Asia – represented by Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines – against the renowned rum-producing regions of Jamaica (Hampden Estate and Appleton Estate), Nicaragua (Flor de Caña), Grenada (6 Saints), Barbados (Mount Gay), Caribbean (Tiki Lovers), and Trinidad & Tobago (The Kraken).

Aside from that, one of the main highlights of the event is the unveiling of the 22-year-old limited-edition ‘Plantation Single Cask 2021 Jamaica 1998 rum’. The said rum was distilled in 1998 at Jamaica’s Long Pond Distillery and has aged for 20 years in bourbon casks. Finished in a mixture of Ferrand and Bardstown Fusion Series bourbon casks, the said Jamaican rum will only be made available in 126 bottles for the Asia Pacific market.

While enjoying the finest rums, festival goers can also experience other rum-based cocktails from the best bars in Singapore, like Origin Bar, Sago House, Low Tide, Lime House Caribbean, The Kongsee, The Bar at 15 Stamford, and Sugarhall. Also joining the fun are the recognized bartenders from World 50 Best Bards, including Dirty Dick (Paris), Jungle Bird (Kuala Lumpur), Buccaneers Rum & Kitchen (Manila), A/A (Jakarta), and The House of Sathorn and Teens of Thailand (Bangkok).

Also expect a battle royale of regional rums like Phraya, Samai, and Chalong Bay, as well as the pride of Caribbean – which includes Doorly’s, Equiano, Renegade, and Foursquares.

Rum Bellion 2022: Tickets and Schedule

Don’t miss Rum Bellion 2022 and join the crowd as they enjoy the festival led by bartenders from overseas this June 5 from 1 pm until late.

Shaking things up before the most-awaited date, the following bartenders will take over the local venues in Singapore from June 3 – 4. Guest shifts are as follows:

  • June 3 (Friday) – Scotty Schuder from Dicky Dick (Paris) will be at The Kongsee.
