Reinvigorate Your Art Collecting Journey as the Affordable Art Fair Makes a Comeback in Singapore!

November 1, 2022

November 1, 2022

Sharing is caring!

After a three-year break, the Affordable Art Fair returns with more enticing contemporary artwork and activities to enjoy.

Yes, they are back! Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2022 is set to return this November 18 – 20 at the F1 Pit Building. After the three-year pandemic hiatus, this year’s art marketplace features more than 1,000 original contemporary artworks, meticulously handpicked from 80 international and local participating galleries, with artworks by over 550 emerging and established artists.

Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2022 is the first international art fair to have returned to the city-state since the pandemic. Reawakening the spirit of creativity among art lovers, the world’s leading showcase for affordable contemporary art intends to support the local art scene in Singapore by building new audiences and becoming the conduit between local and international galleries and art collectors.

Whether you’re into contemporary oil paintings, photography, limited-edition prints, or life-size sculptures, the exhibition will definitely spoil you for your choice and budget. Art Fair Singapore 2022 makes sure that those who are still starting with their art-collecting journey will enjoy the fair. They have kept the price ceiling of artworks under S$15,00 – with a selected few priced below S$1,000 and around 75% of all the works displayed at less than S$7,500.

Here’s What You Have to Know About Affordable Art Fair

Ever since its foundation in 1999 by founder Will Ramsay, Affordable Art Fair has become the biggest organizer of art fairs in the world. It has offered hands-on advice and educational guidance to all new art collectors—making the art collecting process welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Aside from browsing through the collections on display, Affordable Art Fair 2022 also features programs for families to attend. First-time visitors can also go on a guided tour. The Gastropark is also available for those who want to grab a bite or drink during their visit. Furthermore, for those who want to unwind after a whole week of hustle, an Arty-Licious Evening is specially presented by the art fair on November 18. Expect to enjoy a series of creatively centered activities with music to perfectly complement them.

Seasoned art collectors can look forward to seeing the new works of veteran exhibitors coming from Utterly Art and REDSEA Gallery from Singapore, longtime fair supporter Quantum Contemporary Art from London, and Singapore’s oldest and most established art gallery, Art Forum.

Offering fresh new ideas to the fair are new entrants, including Wasuka Art (Singapore), Once Gallery (China), La Lanta Fine Art (Thailand), Manyung Gallery Group (Australia), and Barnes Collective (South Africa). Also adding variety to the exhibition are Beijing artist Wanlin Jiang’s denim pieces; American contemporary artist Shepard Fairey’s limited edition silkscreen and screen prints; and pioneering Singaporean artist Cheo Chai Hiang, who made interactive art popular in Singapore during the 80s and 90s. See the full list of galleries and exhibitors here.

Looking forward to the success of the event, Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2022 Director Alan Koh shared, “After a three-year break, we are delighted to bring the Fair back to our art-loving audience in Singapore. Galleries near and far have been supportive and excited with the reopening of Singapore after the pandemic, and we are ready to help thousands of artworks find happy homes.”

Affordable Art Fair Singapore is, by far, the longest-running international art fair in the city-state. From 9,500 and S$1.75 million in artwork sales in 2010, the art fair has steadily grown up to 13,000 and S$3.4 million in sales in 2019 before it was put on hold because of the pandemic. This only shows the country’s growing interest in affordable contemporary art.

Fellow art lover out there? Don’t miss this chance to get the best deal on artwork from the great artists of today. Make sure to mark your calendars for November 18–20, 2022.
